Understanding the Prayer

Understanding the Lord’s Prayer

Luk 11:2  And He said to them, When you pray, say: Our Father, who is in Heaven, hallowed be Your name.

He is our father so remember you belong to a family. Don’t just pray for you but pray for us, we are family. Love your neighbour as you love yourself. Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.

Your kingdom come,

God is king and never forget that. He has a kingdom and He rules over all. You would rather be in his kingdom than anywhere else.

Your will be done, as in Heaven, so also on the earth.

Obedience is greater than sacrifice so make sure in all your endeavours you at least attempt to be obedient. Is it not better to serve the Lord and obey him than to sacrifice all one has?

Luk 11:3  Give us day by day our daily bread,

The Lord your God is a provider, He is the source of all things. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, don’t be fooled yes you get a salary and all things but in the end God is in charge. Do not be afraid of those that an kill the body but cannot kill the spirit. God is supreme

Luk 11:4  and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.

We have all sinned and come short of this glory, don’t see yourself perfect but be perfected by the presence of God. Forgive others and live as one who understands that God forgives.

And lead us not into temptation,

God will never let a temptation overtake you; He knows your capacity, lean not on your strength but on his strength. He is God; all things are subject to His name.

but deliver us from evil.

Conquer all evil with good, God is good.

Preaching in a Job Interview

It is very nice that people go to church and all, but when you start preaching in a job interview then you have issues. Either you are there to get a job or you are there to preach which is which. If people really are listening to God they would know there is a time for everything a time to preach and a time to get a job. For all you know, you don’t know who you are preaching to in the interview.

A person asked how you would solve a problem at work they would say I will pray, but does not the bible teach that faith with no action is dead? At what point do we not understand that there is night and day. A time to work and a time to do other things. God speaks but make sure you are listening to God and not someone else.

Rich Pastors Reality TV

At what point does Moses start boasting about his wealth? Did not someone say it is all vanity? Then some pastors who have made money believe that they should now have their lives on TV being shown all over the world. At what point does the respect for who they are start and stop? Reality TV for Rich pastors is a no no. It’s a shame.

It’s not only disappointing but a shame and an insult to who God is and what he stands for. Instead of teaching about church the so called pastors are or pre-occupied with money, showing off what they have and how they have. So we get to see life and how it’s all about them them and not God. At what point do Pastors start preaching money more than God. It’s a shame.

All we can do is pray they start seeing what is right and stop listening to whoever they are listening to. God blesses yes we know but stop boasting about it like some entertainers, moving around like some rock and roll pastors. It’s a shame.

Children Who Get Parents Arrested

It is a crazy country when children get their parents arrested for disciplining the children. At what point does the world become insane such that parents can no longer discipline their kids. When this happens then you know the country is set up for disaster. The Lord disciplines the ones he loves at what point do we then think we can now act in such a way that our kids have no discipline.

In the army we discipline soldiers who go astray, in life the law serves as a disciplinary measure,  even the earth teaches us a lesson when we fail to act accordingly. How then does a country get to a point where parents can be taken to jail by their kids for scolding the kids and teachers are at the mercies of the kids. When kids start shooting people we cry that God has left us but we left the simple principles of God.

How does a child learn when there is no discipline process in place. The people making such policies who are they, and where is the church. We are not for abuse of kids but we are for discipline.

Pro 22:6  Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Pro 19:18  Discipline your children while you still have the chance; indulging them destroys them.

When Church Stops

Church in Zimbabwe is normally on Sundays and for some on Saturday. It can range from two hours to 6 hours or so depending which church you go to.  After all the music is done and the preaching is done people go home and what happens next after that is as they say, anyone’s guess.

‘Which makes us wonder what church is? At church people talk with low heads hung on one side seeming all humble and greeting each other with a smile. Even on leaving the church yard parking lot, we all give each other way and drive really cautiously.  Come Monday as the day will have it a transformation occurs. No more greeting people with smiles, no more cautious driving, no more seeming humble, no more humming church songs, no more bibles. The bibles are thrown into the drawers as if they are taking a hibernation. It seems everyone gets into this mode that this is work, this is life, this is the world, this is how it is.

So when does church start and when does it end? If we are the church of Jesus then church never ends. Paul says walk in spirit and live in spirit. If you are a mother, church never ends, decision makers remember church never ends. The bible does not belong on Sundays but on every day of the week. Our advice is that church is not an event , we are an event but church is life.
